I started my career as a professional artist in 1985, prior to this I worked for the forestry commision.
Although I have produced many paintings over the years, I still feel the same enthusiasm every time I am faced with a blank canvas.
Recently I have derived great pleasure from passing on my various techniques to students in my classes, some of whom have gone on to be successful artists themselves.
Since 2012 I have been building up a selection of Oil Painting Tutorial DVDs and I frequently send them world wide.
On facebook I have set up a closed group specifically for people who have purchaced my DVDs and many of them have become good friends.
Living in Cornwall I am surrounded by inspirational land and seascapes. I try to capture the atmosphere and light of these special places in my paintings. I am especially fond of the early morning and evening light when the sun is low in the sky. My current project is

I hold oil painting workshops in two different ways.
The regular group workshops are with a max of 4 people.
These are held one day per month.
I also do a ONE TO ONE TUITION which is booked to suit the student so they can do as little or as many days as they like.
The ONE TO ONE TUITION is £125 per day.
During these workshops I take each person stage by stage through a painting showing the various techniques I use to complete a picture.
These classes are for all abilities from the total novice to the more experienced painter. Please contact me for more information
In my DVDs I take you through the whole painting from start to finish. Clear written instructions show you the various techniques that I have developed over the years.
All Dvd`s are available in PAL and NTSC format.
